"Mojo weekend was the perfect way to revive my enthusiasm for guitar playing in a really friendly and supportive atmosphere. I'd been stuck in a rut for ages after my band folded. And was sick of playing the same tired old stuff every time I picked up the guitar.
I liked the way the tutors encouraged everyone to play a part in getting a number ready for performance despite most of us being pretty "average" players. Several people had never played with anyone else before but that didn't seem to matter.
By the end of the weekend I felt much more confident and was thinking about some familiar and not so familiar songs in an entirely new light.
The tutors were first rate, pitched things just right and combined group work and individual attention as required. They even managed to take me out of my comfort zone without my noticing!
The emphasis on playing the blues was right up my street and finding I could now play T-Bone Walker licks for the first time was a revelation. The two days flew by and my only complaint is there wasn't enough time to do even more.
I should mention the rehearsal spaces and equipment were top class, the company was excellent and I'm already looking to start a new band. Thanks Mojo and here's to the next one!"
